Our surf school is unique in the area. All lessons are taught exclusively by the professional coaches from the locally owned and operated Sand Bar Surf School. Every coach on the team is certified to be an instructor and also has ISA/ILA water rescue certification. 

They've all had competition experience and they've also acted as surf competition judges, so you can be sure they know a thing or two about surfing!

Our coaching technique is unique too. The first thing we do is assess your current skills, so we know what we need to do to bring you to the next level from the get go. We break down your week of surf coaching specifically to help you learn, improve and progress quickly.

The Sand Bar surf program always includes a maximum of 1:2 training and analysis for each student. We also incorporate photo and video analysis into your daily lessons, giving you visuals that show you exactly what you are doing right and wrong, and allowing us to target what you'll need to work on to confidently ride the waves that match your skill level.

If you’ve had a bit of experience before you come here, we’ll start out by coaching you through our local breaks, helping you understand how to find the right spots to paddle out to and where to position yourself beyond the break, so you can time and catch the absolute best rides.

 For those who are just learning to surf, we give you a full rundown of the basics both on land and in the water. By the end of the week you'll be able to consistently and effectively paddle out and catch waves, cuz that's what you came here to do!
